My introduction to Christian Science came one cold night many years ago when I was out walking with a student of Science. I complained that my feet were numb and seemed to be freezing. She prayerfully applied some of the truths of Science in my behalf, and almost immediately my feet became warm and comfortable. So my journey Spiritward began.

Truth has since healed all sorts of discords and has afforded me protection. A few of my healings are those of an inward goiter, a sprained ankle, abscessed teeth, and frequent headaches. Protection was experienced when a car in which I was riding with three other people tipped over into a ditch. My thought turned at once to God; and when the car was righted, we were able to continue our journey with no ill effects to anyone.

When a tornado struck our area, uprooting large trees and leveling some houses, I was at home alone. I prayed and studied until all the lights went out and one of our neighbors and her young children came over because they were fearful of the storm. As a result of my study I was unafraid and confident of God's omnipotence and omnipresence. Our house was unharmed, and later my husband came home safely in spite of the debris-strewn, dark streets.
