The Unity of Being
Whenever the control of God, divine Mind, is acknowledged and revered, a pattern of unity emerges, and those who feel they are misfits gradually or quickly overcome this false sense. Whenever the control of divine Mind is disregarded or unknown, maladjustment and a lack of unity with God persist. According to Christian Science, which reveals the true order of existence, there is absolute unity of being because there is but one Principle, one infinite Mind, manifesting itself in one unified creation.
The teachings and works of Christ Jesus constantly indicate this unity of being, for through them the universal pattern of divine harmony became evident. Perhaps the Master was pointing to this fact when he said to his opponents who objected to his healing a man on the Sabbath (John 5:17), "My Father worketh hitherto, and I work."
Healing the sick, observing the Sabbath, removing restrictions on health and intelligence and purity —all prove the unity of real being. In absolute Science, God is All, and, being All, He is self-contained. There is nothing besides Him, nothing that can escape His outlining.
