I should like to express my great...
I should like to express my great gratitude for the many blessings which have unfolded in my experience since I first became interested in Christian Science as the result of witnessing a physical healing experienced by my mother and the peace of mind it brought to her.
At the time this testimony begins I had been earnestly studying the Bible and the writings of Mrs. Eddy for about ten years, having attended Christian Science church services and sporadically studied the weekly Lesson-Sermon from the Christian Science Quarterly for some years prior to that.
Through this time I had many healings of physical disorders, such as bursitis, an ear infection, a sprained ankle, cuts, burns, and dog bites; but in spite of these healings and the great peace which comes to all who strive to realize man's true selfhood as the spiritual offspring of God, I still was mesmerized by the cigarette habit. I tried for years to overcome this habit, and at times would stop smoking altogether; but each time some crisis would occur, and in a crisis I always reached for a cigarette.
