I am grateful to God for Christian Science

I am grateful to God for Christian Science. I had always been searching for a religion which would give me an understanding of God, and I was finally led to Science through the joy and spirituality reflected by a sister-in-law. Although she did not talk about her religion, I was deeply impressed by the unselfishness and love she expressed. I thought that some day I would look into Christian Science. Several years later I did, and it has satisfied the desire to know and understand God as a kind and loving Father and Mother and as Principle, Love, and Soul. Many healings resulted from the reading of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.

One of these healings was that of an injured back. I received this injury in an accident when I was in high school, and the doctors said I would always have trouble with my back. In the ensuing years I suffered a great deal from this condition. After I had been reading Science and Health for several weeks, I realized one day that I was no longer having the pain in my back or the accompanying states of weariness and depression. They had all just disappeared, and I was free! The inspiration and gratitude felt for this wonderful Science cannot be measured in words.

I am grateful for Christ Jesus and his immortal Sermon on the Mount. I wish too to express my gratitude for the glorious opportunity of class instruction and the association meetings, which bring forth abundant spiritual growth from year to year. They are truly feasts of Love. I wish also to give thanks for those of Mrs. Eddy's poems which are set to music in the Christian Science Hymnal. They are a constant, daily help.—(Mrs.) Alice L. Miller, El Paso, Texas.
