Some time ago I awoke in the night, got up, and tried to walk, but I went around in circles. I was very much alarmed and returned to bed, where I repeated "the scientific statement of being" from the textbook by Mrs. Eddy. This reads as follows (p. 468): "There is no life, truth, intelligence, nor substance in matter. All is infinite Mind and its infinite manifestation, for God is All-in-all. Spirit is immortal Truth; matter is mortal error. Spirit is the real and eternal; matter is the unreal and temporal. Spirit is God, and man is His image and likeness. Therefore man is not material; he is spiritual."

I pondered these truths until the fear subsided and I was able to telephone a practitioner. She reassured me with statements of truth, told me to return to bed, and said that she would pray for me at once. I fell asleep and found myself healed in the morning.

At another time an intense pain seized my whole body, and again I was very fearful. A practitioner who promised to work for me asked me to study this passage (ibid., p. 113): "There is no pain in Truth, and no truth in pain; no nerve in Mind, and no mind in nerve; no matter in Mind, and no mind in matter; no matter in Life, and no life in matter; no matter in good, and no good in matter." The condition was relieved in a short time, for which I am very grateful.
