"THE TRUTH SHALL MAKE YOU FREE"
John 8:32
"Ye
shall know the truth," Christ Jesus said,
"And the truth shall make you free."
What comfort does this promise shed
For all humanity!
Has selfishness in any guise
Enslaved the human mind?
Then unselfed Love will break the ties
And help to free mankind.
Is one imprisoned in the tomb
Of discord, pain, or fear?
Let Christ remove the stone—make room
For Truth and Love right here.
Does envy, pride, or human will
Bind thought with chains of steel?
The loosening power of Love will still
The perfect man reveal.
Whatever the claim that error makes,
Whatever its bonds may be,
Remember that it only takes
The truth to make us free.
