Church Dedications
Helensburgh and Gareloch Times
Helensburgh, Dunbartonshire, Scotland (First Church).
The dedication on Sunday of their attractive-looking church in West Princes Street was a very happy day for the small congregation of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Helensburgh. ... Two years ago ... their church was completed and brought into use [but] it could not be dedicated until it was free of debt. ... There were full attendances at both services on Sunday to take part in the simple dedication service. This was performed by the First Reader ... who, after giving a historical outline of their local history and recalling the definition of "Church" as given by their Founder, Mary Baker Eddy, declared the church dedicated to God and to the service of mankind.
This bright, cosy little church, with members living as far out as Dumbarton, the Vale of Leven, and around Garelochside, has been constructed with excellent but simple taste, and with a view to future extension should that become necessary.
