For about forty years Christian Science has been to me the pearl of great price. Every time I have applied its rules honestly, conscientiously, and persistently, it has met my needs.

I had been living in a certain pension for almost a year when I was abruptly told that I must look for another place to live. The landlord and his whole family, as well as some of the boarders, were opposed to Christian Science, and they had just learned that I was a Christian Scientist.

I turned to God completely and put the problem into His hands; He alone could solve it. Then with the aid of the Concordances to Mrs. Eddy's writings, I studied everything relating to animal magnetism. I went on to study references to "home" and the "kingdom of heaven, and the spiritual qualities which comprise them and which I wanted to see manifested in my experience.
