"The shoe does not fit!"
"We can refuse to accept as factual any of the accusations of the carnal, or mortal, mind"
A small group of officials was once subjected to a long and bitter harangue of criticism and false accusation. After about an hour, the one voicing the criticism withdrew from the meeting. Amazed and almost speechless, all of the officials but one slumped back in their chairs. However, feeling a great sense of innocency and detachment from it all, in spite of the fact that a fair portion of the attack had been directed toward him, this individual proclaimed vehemently: "The shoe does not fit! I refuse to wear it!" Soon the others regained their equilibrium.
