I began the study of Christian Science...
I began the study of Christian Science primarily to gain a physical healing. During my fifth year of teaching in the public schools I became ill. A year's leave of absence was granted to me, and I sought the help of many physicians, but in vain. Then an X-ray picture revealed that one lung was diseased. The physician said I should move to another climate, but I did not want to do this.
A friend recommended that I try Christian Science, and I sought help through the prayers of a practitioner. There was improvement after the first treatment, but the complete healing took years of study on my part and help from the practitioner.
I joined The Mother Church and a branch church and had class instruction. As I gained more understanding of Science, better health was manifested.
