Some eleven years ago I suffered from what was diagnosed as arthritis in my knees and feet. Though medical treatment by a series of different doctors alleviated the pain and swelling for certain periods of time, it was not until I took up the earnest study of Christian Science and applied its teachings that the disease disappeared. It has not returned.

"There is no power apart from God." So writes Mrs. Eddy on page 228 of Science and Health. Since God, good, is all-power, then it follows there can be no room whatever for anything un-godlike. I proved this some months ago when upon awakening one morning I found one of my eyes inflamed and swollen as a result of a small boil on the eyelid. I turned my thought to the truth of man's being as the image and likeness of his Father-Mother God, knowing that only the omnipresence of God can manifest itself and that any discordant appearance is simply a negation of Truth, therefore nothing.

As I sat at breakfast, a friend remarked worriedly that my eye looked infected. Basing my reply on the understanding that man is spiritual and perfect, I assured him kindly that my eye was all right. At that moment another thought came to me, one I remembered from an article in a Christian Science periodical. It was to the effect that the ultimate healing is the gaining of the absolute realization that there is nothing to heal, for God, divine Love, fills all space.
