It is with a profound sense of gratitude to God for Christ Jesus and for our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science and revelator of Truth to this age, that I lovingly contribute this testimony.

Over the years many have been the beautiful proofs I have witnessed of Truth's healing power. While camping with the Girl Guides, our daughter stepped on a rusty nail a few days before returning home. She had been praying for herself as she had been taught to pray in Christian Science; but on the Sunday following her return home she was unable to walk on account of pain in the foot. After we had spent four days and nights of watching, praying, and studying, a feeling of fear and a sense of danger developed in the family, and a persistent recommendation was being made that a surgeon be called to open the foot.

I left the room to pray alone for strength, and on entering another room there lay in front of me the Manual of The Mother Church by Mrs. Eddy. I picked up the book, and it opened at page 42. There I read Section 6 of Article VIII, entitled "Alertness to Duty," which states: "It shall be the duty of every member of this Church to defend himself daily against aggressive mental suggestion, and not be made to forget nor to neglect his duty to God, to his Leader, and to mankind. By his works he shall be judged,—and justified or condemned. "As I read, all sense of danger, fear, and strain was dissipated, leaving me with a deep feeling of peace.
