I am grateful for the testimonies...

I am grateful for the testimonies published in the Christian Science periodicals, and I should like to tell of two instances in which they have helped to meet my need.

I had been suffering from a buzzing in my right ear for some six months. The first part of the definition of "ears," given by Mrs. Eddy in Science and Health, reads (p. 585), "Not organs of the so-called corporeal senses, but spiritual understanding." This helped me, but it was not till I read in our periodicals the testimony of a woman who had been healed of a similar difficulty that I received my own healing. The woman wrote with clear conviction, stating that she had claimed man's complete perfection as God's spiritual idea, and as I read the testimony I heard a click, and my ear became normal and has remained so.

In the second instance a testifier told of crossing a road and finding herself suddenly faced by oncoming traffic from which it appeared she could not escape. At that moment she declared the presence and power of God and was able to avoid the traffic. Later, I found myself crossing a road too hurriedly and realized that a heavy lorry was approaching. In a flash I remembered the testimony, recognized God's power and presence, claimed man's exemption from evil, and left all in God's hands.
