Some years ago I was suddenly stricken with constant vomiting, and from then on I could not retain any food. I tried earnestly to heal this illness through my own prayers, but finally I called for the help of a Christian Science practitioner. When I could not remain at home by myself any longer, kind friends made arrangements for me to be taken to a Christian Science nursing home, where I was cared for while I was having Christian Science treatment.

How grateful I was that I had memorized so many statements from the Bible and also from the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy! I would go over and over these true and strength-giving statements, pondering their spiritual meaning.

Then a lecture was to be given in the branch church to which I belong, and I did so want to go. I knew the lecturer and spoke to him on the telephone before the lecture. When I told him I wanted very much to hear the lecture and wanted to get well, he said: "Stop wanting. You already have all you need."
