Although not interested in Christian Science herself, my mother took a practitioner to see a sick friend over forty years ago. This unselfish act led to a new concept of God for my mother. It brought her a new religion in which she was interested, the answer to her problems, and physical healings. She spent her last forty years in a useful, active life and in working for the Christian Science movement. Through her study and the help of practitioners, she attained at long last not only health, but the peace and serenity for which she had yearned.

Because of her gentle leadings, I attended a Christian Science Sunday School and learned to demonstrate harmony through reliance on the truths contained in the Bible and in the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Our own children were brought up with the teachings of Christian Science, and we depended on nothing else for the solution of our daily problems.

For the help Christian Science afforded me as a parent, I am humbly grateful. Study and application of it reveal that man is God's spiritual offspring. To me this has brought release from fear caused by a false sense of responsibility.
