I have been a student of Christian Science for over twenty-five years, and during this time I have been faced with many difficult problems of health, business relationships, supply, and so on, and I have always found Christian Science a wonderful help in solving these problems. I should like to express my gratitude and share an experience I had in the hope that it may be of help to others.

Many years ago I was suddenly attacked by a very painful knee condition. When I retired for the night the pain was so intense that I could barely stand the touch of a bed sheet. Working this problem out, as we are taught in Christian Science, I found myself dwelling on "the scientific statement of being" on page 468 of Science and Health by our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, which includes this statement: "Spirit is God, and man is His image and likeness. Therefore man is not material; he is spiritual."

Truths from the Bible also came to me, including: "God created man in his own image" (Gen. 1:27), "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ... All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made" (John 1:1, 3), and back to Genesis 1:31, "And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good."
