Jean Learns How to Pray
[Of Special Interest to Children]
Alma, Nancy, and Jean were good friends. Quite often they went with their parents to the Christian Science church on Wednesday evening to the testimony meeting. Alma's and Nancy's fathers were ushers. Jean wished with all her heart that her father were an usher too.
One day she said to Nancy's father, "If only Daddy would join the church and be an usher!" He smiled and asked if that was the only reason she wanted her father to join the church. "No," said Jean seriously. "You see, I love to go to Sunday School and in that way belong to the Christian Science church. It makes me feel all happy inside, and I don't like Daddy to be left out. I want him to belong too."
Nancy's father replied: "He will, my dear. Mark my words, he will! Just you pray over it."
