God had always been a friend...

God had always been a friend to me. I had been freed from fear with the words (Ps. 46:10), "Be still, and know that I am God." Although not a Christian Scientist at the time, I had seen our son healed of lobar pneumonia when I had declared that I knew that the condition was not from God.

Later, when a young child passed on, I could not accept the explanation given: that it was God's will. I found and read Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy which my father had given me when I married.

My only knowledge of Mrs. Eddy's book was that it contained an interpretation of the Lord's Prayer; but after my first complete reading of it, I was healed of migraine. It returned after a year, but soon vanished when I was willing to drop false dispositional traits. This healing has been permanent.
