I am grateful to God for all the good that has come into my experience through the study and application of the teachings of Christian Science. More and more I am trusting the Christ, Truth, and its divine power to heal me, to guide me in all my affairs, and to make me more loving to others and more joyous.

One day when a Christian Science lecture was to be given by the branch Church of Christ, Scientist, of which I am a member I manifested some of the symptoms of a bad cold, including a headache. I felt so ill that I wanted to go to bed and stay there. But I knew the cold must be healed at once, since I was to introduce the lecturer from the platform that evening, I was living in a remote district, and having no telephone I could not call a Christian Science practitioner.

So I took the Bible and Mrs. Eddy's writings and looked up many familiar passages explaining the true nature of man's being; these had helped me before. In "Pulpit and Press." Mrs. Eddy writes (p. 4), "You have simply to preserve a scientific, positive sense of unity with your divine source, and daily demonstrate this." I studied this profound statement earnestly. I claimed man's unity with the divine presence and man's perfect selfhood, which is found in the secret place and knows nothing of illness. Then I lay down and slept, and when I arose I was well and was able to perform my duty that evening in complete freedom.
