Once again I should like to express my gratitude for the many blessings I have received through the study and application of Christian Science. While visiting in the home of my sister, I was suddenly attacked by a painful condition of the back which became aggressive and stubborn.

There are three young children in the household, and they were all suffering from severe colds. There was much confusion, little time for study, and no privacy. My sister and her family are not students of Christian Science.

As the condition of my back grew progressively worse, I became more concerned and, I must admit, frightened. I knew of no practitioner in the vicinity, and the one I usually called upon for help in my own city was away from home. After several days and nights during which I was many times tempted to speak of the condition but refrained, I took the Bible and my Science books and managed to find a quiet spot where I could be alone.
