Another Angel

Not long ago a sketching club on television invited junior viewers to submit their impressions of the scene at the first Christmas in Bethlehem. Trained in the contemporary style, some of these young artists apparently felt the urge to bring the conception of angels up to date. So they boldly abandoned the traditional setting with its stars and winged creatures and produced their effects entirely by the symbolic use of light. The result was both vivid and meaningful.
