One evening I became aware...
One evening I became aware that our young daughter was not her usual joyous self. At bedtime she told me that she had been experiencing discomfort for over a day, but was praying earnestly to overcome the illness. During the night she came to my door crying; she was evidencing a high fever and was in considerable pain. I sang to her a few hymns from the Christian Science Hymnal, including No. 412, which says of the Christ,
He comes to bless thee on his wings of healing;
To banish pain, and wipe all tears away.
