When I was eleven the organization of a Christian Science Society in the vicinity of my home made it possible for me to attend Sunday School regularly. Each of my teachers presented the meaning of the Commandments, the Lord's Prayer, and the Beatitudes in such a way as to arouse in me a desire to learn more of Christian Science and to live in obedience to God's law.

Prior to attendance at Sunday School I had often missed day school because of illness; but as I learned to understand the care and guidance our heavenly Father provides for His children, ill-health and many other inharmonious conditions of my teenage years were dispelled.

At one time after my marriage, when our children were very young, my husband left for a two-week business trip, and I developed a distressing condition of the bladder. The next four days were spent in constant, confident prayer. I called a Christian Science practitioner, and in our conversation the need was uncovered of my awakening to the fact that there is no science but Christian Science, no law but divine law. I pondered the meaning of the words of a hymn. It was No. 221 in the Christian Science Hymnal and includes these lines:
