Christian Science came into our home when I was a young girl, but I was to learn many lessons before I really understood what it is and how to apply its teachings. Sorrow, sickness, and discouragement were my lot for a long time.

After entering the business world I seldom went to church, although I was a member of a branch Church of Christ, Scientist. Then, before my marriage, my mother passed on. Because we had always been good companions, this separation was difficult to bear. But a Christian Science practitioner helped the whole family during this experience. It awakened in me a great desire to attend church and become an active member. I did both.

Some years later it became necessary for me to provide a home for my two young boys. It seemed a huge task. When I applied for a position, I was told I was too old; but I felt it was right for me to find employment, and I prayed for guidance. In the meantime gifts of money came through loving channels, and food as well as clothing was provided just when the need was greatest. Unhappy and serious situations were healed through God's loving care, and eventually I found a position.
