I experienced my first healing in Science in 1906. For several months I had had an abscess, which had not been healed under medical treatment. During this time I had an operation for appendicitis, which left me discouraged and in a weakened condition. When someone told me about Christian Science, I was ready for it and immediately sought the help of a practitioner. In two weeks I was healed of the abscess and the weakness.

I began an earnest study of the textbooks, the Bible and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. I endeavored to express in daily life the new concept of God as Love that I was gaining, and lack, sin, and disease began to disappear from my experience.

Several years ago I suddenly became very ill. The pain was severe and the condition alarming. A friend who was versed in medical laws urged surgery. The opinion was expressed that the condition was beyond the help of Christian Science and that unless there was immediate relief, I could live but a short time.
