A neighbor once asked me to...
A neighbor once asked me to read a copy of the Sentinel. It seemed to meet a great need at the moment; and after I had secured and read more of the literature I was convinced that Christian Science is the truth of God and man. I was then a member of an orthodox church. I would put the literature aside for a while, but I would always come back to it. Finally I withdrew from the church to which I belonged and in a short time became a member of a branch Church of Christ, Scientist.
I had undergone two surgical operations, and I was faced with the possibility of submitting to another. Instead of doing so, I went to see a Christian Science practitioner. After my first visit I returned home fairly walking on air. The condition was healed without surgery. All material remedies were then put aside, for it had been proved that God is indeed more powerful than any material remedy.
So-called children's diseases were often met quickly by our own study of the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and our reading of the literature. After we read testimonies of healing and talked of God's power and presence, our eldest son had a quick healing of a badly infected heel with signs of blood poisoning. In the same way a very large splinter removed itself from the foot of his younger brother.
