When I was a young boy I was...
When I was a young boy I was enrolled in a Christian Science Sunday School. One Sunday morning when I awoke I found that I was unable to move; not even a hand or a foot seemed to function.
At that time there was an epidemic of infantile paralysis. My parents had just started to attend services in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, and I was a new student, but I knew that God is Love and that I, like the man in the Bible, would rise up and walk, as Christ Jesus commanded (Luke 5:23).
My Sunday School teacher and a Christian Science practitioner visited me twice that day, once immediately after the Sunday morning service and again after dinner. Many healing statements of Truth were declared to me and especially to my parents, who were very fearful of this disease.
