Progressing Through the Wilderness
"Regardless of its seeming nature or severity or its tenacity, error is not real or true"
We read in the Bible that because Elijah had brought about the slaying of the prophets of Baal, his own life was threatened. The record says, "He ...went a day's journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree" (I Kings 19). Then, apparently overcome by a sense of hopelessness and discouragement, Elijah said, "It is enough; now, O Lord, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers."
