It was at a Christian Science lecture...
It was at a Christian Science lecture that I realized I could know and understand God by studying Christian Science. I had experienced some lovely healings through the prayers of my mother and through those of a Christian Science practitioner; but until I heard this lecture I was not interested in becoming a student.
My mother became interested in this religion as a result of reading a criticism of Mrs. Eddy's writings. She felt that what Mrs. Eddy had written was true and that the critic was wrong. It was interesting to note that later the criticism was retracted by the author.
At one time it was necessary to take a physical examination for a teaching credential, and the doctor remarked that it appeared that I had had my tonsils removed. While growing up I had suffered a lot from tonsil trouble, but after a quick healing of a severe attack of quinsy I was never bothered with throat trouble again. I realized after this physical examination how complete had been God's work.
