About thirty-seven years ago my mother had to undergo a serious operation. Soon afterwards she suffered a relapse, but she did not feel equal to the second operation the doctor advised. Seeing her distress, an acquaintance told her about Christian Science. A practitioner was asked for help, and my mother was healed in a very short time.

The healing made such an impression on me that I immediately procured the Christian Science textbook and began to read it. Since that time I have experienced so much good through Christian Science that to tell all of it is impossible. Through my own prayerful work I was completely healed of an attack of pleurisy. The healing took place when I learned to be more spiritually alert and at once to oppose with the truth any erroneous belief thrusting itself upon me.

Some years ago I was on a skiing vacation in the mountains, and on a downhill run I struck breakable crust and had a bad fall. Even as I fell, I felt something grate in my left knee. A fellow skier helped me up, but when I tried to bring the skis into the proper position, I was unable to turn the left ski forward; my knee was limp and gave way.
