WHAT ARE WE ACCEPTING AS REAL?

A Christian Scientist very much desired to bring to a friend, whom he was visiting, the joyous light which accompanies even the first glimpse of the understanding of God. With this motivating thought, the Scientist voiced the spiritual fact that God is good, and all that He made is good. "Therefore," he continued, "that which is not good, such as sickness, He did not make." Then he added, "Since God did not make sickness, it is not real and need not be submitted to."

The friend, looking up at him despondently, retorted: "How do you expect me to believe that sickness is not real? Am I not confined to bed as a result of it? And I am unable to arise because I lack the strength to do it."

Even while his friend was talking, the visitor was clearing his own thought, knowing that man, made in the likeness of perfect Mind, acknowledges the truth and that he always expresses harmony, which is the law of Life, Truth, and Love. With this clear realization of the truth of being came the answer, for inspiration is always associated with correct scientific thinking.
