I have had many instantaneous healings in Christian Science, but the healings that have not been immediate are the ones that have forced me really to study. Through these experiences much spiritual and enduring growth has been manifested.

Many years ago I had a healing of an inward goiter. At this same time I was going through a trying experience in my home. Although I was very uncomfortable physically, my uppermost thought was to overcome the difficulty in order to prove that Christian Science does heal.

After my mother had been visited by a friend of mine who, to force me to have an operation, told her it was wicked not to do something for me, we went to a Christian Science practitioner for help. He talked to me of God and of man as His beloved child. He showed me how important it is that one be instant in declaring the truth of man's relationship to God whenever a problem arises.
