I Was placed in a Christian Science Sunday School...
I Was placed in a Christian Science Sunday School at the age of four and attended regularly until I was twenty. Then I followed the paths of worldliness, thinking I was having a wonderful time. Cocktail parties and smoking were important activities in my social life.
After many years this type of life started to bore me, then actually to gall me. The utter uselessness of my existence became apparent. Then many things started to go wrong—frequent colds, costly mistakes at the office, extreme listlessness, and daily fatigue were commonplace. I began to wonder how I could possibly overcome these conditions; then suddenly the answer seemed to boom out at me, "Christian Science."
I hunted for the Bible and for my copies of Science and Health and the Manual of The Mother Church by our Leader, Mrs. Eddy. The next morning, bright and early, I was at the Reading Room purchasing a Quarterly. I immediately went back to regular church attendance.
