I want to express my gratitude to God for my understanding of Christian Science and for Mrs. Eddy, who, through inspiration and untiring effort, gave this wonderful truth to us to demonstrate as Jesus taught his disciples to do.

When I was a child I was always ailing, and the doctors told my mother that if I lived to be twenty-one, it would be a wonder. In my early life I knew nothing of Science, and not until after I was married did I learn about it. I was a member of an orthodox church, but I was not getting out of my religion what I thought I should.

At this time I had a bakery route, and I called on many people. On my route lived a woman who belonged to a Church of Christ, Scientist, and she invited me to attend a service in her church. I did, and I had never before felt, nor had I received, as much love as was expressed by its members. I knew that I had found what I was looking for. I bought a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and began to read it. The first sentence of the Preface (p vii), "To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings," assured me that I was on the right road.
