Activities for the Armed Services

Reserve Officers' Training Corps

Christian Science Activities for the Armed Services is available to assist Christian Scientists in colleges and universities who are enrolled in the United States Army, Navy, and Air Force Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) and in the Marine Platform Leader Class (PLC). These students are encouraged to notify Christian Science Activities for the Armed Services, 107 Falmouth Street, Boston 15, Massachusetts, when they go for their summer training and later when they are called to extended active duty after obtaining officers' commissions in the Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marines.

The notice sent to us should include the name of the individual, his home address, the date he goes on active duty, and the military installation where he will be stationed or the Navy ship to which he will be assigned. After receiving this information, this office will send the writer the name and address of the Christian Science Chaplain, Minister, or Representative at the installation where he will be on duty or for the ship on which he will serve.

A Christian Scientist in a university enrolled in the ROTC to obtain an Army commission as a second lieutenant. Part of his training was to serve for six weeks during the summer at an Army installation.
