As soon as I had visited a Christian Science Reading Room more than twenty-one years ago, obtained a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and started to study it in conjunction with the Bible, I knew I had found the way of Life I had always wanted. I had heard of Christian Science and had attended a lecture or two on it. And I would read some articles in the Sentinel whenever I felt depressed. These articles always relieved the sense of depression.

From the day of that first visit to a Reading Room, I have taken no medicine and have relied wholly on Christian Science for physical healing as well as for all other needs. I can say with the Psalmist, "He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust" (Ps. 91).

The eldest of five children and never strong as a child or as a young woman, I had frequent bilious attacks and headache, and I suffered from constipation. I was always the first one in the family to become afflicted with so-called children's diseases. Since becoming a student of Christian Science, I have had much better health and have not spent a full day in bed. I have been healed of colds, influenza, constipation, headache, a dislocated vertebra, shingles, and a painful internal condition. All these healings came about quickly with the help of a Christian Science practitioner or through my own study of the Bible in conjunction with Mrs. Eddy's writings.
