I have been a student of Christian Science for about thirty years, during which time I have experienced many healings, and I am very grateful for them. They have included those of influenza, colds, an injury to an eye, pleurisy, and neuritis. However, some time ago I experienced a healing which I feel I should tell in some detail as it may be of help to others.

I began to suffer from a severe pain in my back which was accompanied by pains in my legs. After about a year, when my study of Christian Science had not brought about a healing, I decided that I would have a medical diagnosis. I was thoroughly examined, and an X-ray photograph showed that I had a dislocated disk in the lower part of my spine, I was advised to get treatment from an osteopath. This I did, abandoning Christian Science help.

Here I should like to say that the doctors and all those who tried to help me during my brief return to materia medica were very kind. After two or three months I was in less pain, and the medical treatment was said to be completed. But after a short time I got far worse and could find no relief from pain at all. At night I could sleep only for very short periods.
