SAFE IN GOD'S CARE

[Of Special Interest to Children]

Janie and her two sisters and brother have always known about God's care because they attend the Christian Science Sunday School. Whenever any kind of trouble argues that error is true, they learn in Sunday School how safe it is to turn always to God, divine Love, even as Christ Jesus did and urged his followers to do.

Their mother reminds them that each trouble, whether it seems to be a sick cat or a hard school assignment, is not something to be afraid of, since the trouble is really only a belief in something besides God, good. The family have proved many times that when God's loving law is understood to be the only law governing them, they are safe.

One spring, Janie was bothered with a wart on her finger. Her grandmother, who is also a Christian Scientist, talked with Janie about the Bible story of Balaam and Balak. Balaam said to Balak, who had tried to make him curse the children of Israel (Num. 23:20), "Behold, I have received commandment to bless: and he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it." She reminded Janie that God has made all and that what He makes is good. Also that God only blesses His children and that there is no power but good. Janie loved these spiritual truths and remembered them.
