Christian Science has so inspired...

Christian Science has so inspired me that I desire to share my blessings with others. My daughter, when a pupil in the third grade, complained of pain in her head. I called a Christian Science practitioner for help, and I was directed to read on page 393 of the textbook, Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy, the following: "Be firm in your understanding that the divine Mind governs, and that in Science man reflects God's government."

This gave me confidence and faith. However, the next day my daughter's body was covered with a rash; so I called the practitioner for an appointment. Many cases of scarlet fever had been reported in the community, and I feared that my daughter had it. The Bible story of Daniel inspired me when the practitioner explained that the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers, and the Chaldeans were unable to reveal the king's dream, "But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets" (Dan. 2:28).

Later that day, fearful that my sister, a nurse, would detect symptoms of scarlet fever, I opened our textbook to page 467 and read these comforting and peaceful thoughts: "It should be thoroughly understood that all men have one Mind, one God and Father, one Life, Truth, and Love. Mankind will become perfect in proportion as this fact becomes apparent, war will cease, and the true brotherhood of man will be established." This dispelled my fears.
