I took up the study of Christian Science hoping to be healed of a blood infection and of a nervous breakdown. Although I eventually gained my freedom from these, the complete healings did not come quickly. In the interim many other healings took place. One such healing was that of a fractured back which had troubled me for a long time.

With much gratitude I daily read the Bible Lessons from the Christian Science Quarterly and also the Christian Science periodicals. This reading greatly increased my understanding of the concept of perfect God and of perfect man, made in God's likeness. When my consciousness was filled with the knowledge of God as my deliverer, my defender, and the only physician, the healing came.

The understanding I gained during that time stood me in good stead when a further testing time came. As I was hurrying down to the basement, I fell to the bottom of fourteen steps. All I could think to say was, "God is All," which I repeated over and over again.
