CLAIM YOUR EXEMPTIONS
At the time of year when many people are concerned with payment of taxes to the government, one hears much about claiming exemptions. Taxpayers are very careful to take full advantage of their allowed exemptions, which are determined by law.
The student of Christian Science knows another kind of exemption which he may claim in proportion to his understanding of God's laws. Christian Science reveals man's perfection as the child of God and teaches its adherents how to demonstrate perfection and thus claim their exemption from sin, sickness, disease, lack, and even death. This exemption is the natural sequence of understanding that since God, good, is the only creator, there is no source from which evil can come, and therefore it is unreal. Evil, being a misconception, can have no true effect.
Just as each one, when filing his tax statement, claims his own exemptions, so each one claims his own exemptions from error as a child of God.
