Recently I had three duties to perform—to sell a business, dispose of a house in London, and purchase property on the south coast of England. I should mention that the main objective in these transactions was to devote more time to the study of Christian Science and to participate more actively in branch church work.

In view of the credit restrictions then prevailing in this country, it seemed a colossal operation; but since my wife and I considered the motive to be right, much prayerful metaphysical work was devoted to it. In addition, we worked, as we are taught to do in Christian Science, with Mrs. Eddy's words in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," which read, "This is the doctrine of Christian Science: that divine Love cannot be deprived of its manifestation, or object" (p. 304).

Also we held to Christ Jesus' words related in the book of John (14:2), "In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you." In a pamphlet was an article entitled "God's Law of Adjustment," which I read daily.
