I have had many proofs of the healing power of Christian Science, including that of a badly fractured shoulder. But I am particularly grateful for the healing of paralysis. A Christian Science practitioner had been helping me at a time when I had a severe cold. When I felt free from this condition, I decided to telephone to the practitioner and tell her of my healing.

When I tried to take the receiver from the hook, I found that I could not use one of my hands. Then I noticed that the other hand was also affected. However, I managed to dial the number. I told the practioner of this condition and then returned to my room. I found it difficult to walk. I declared the truth as best I could, but soon I felt quite helpless. I tried to get close to God in my thinking and to know the eternality of Life.

At my request, a friend who lived across the hall telephoned to a Christian Science nurse and asked her to come to me right away, which she did. She lovingly attended to my needs during the day. Before going home at night, she made me comfortable in a big chair and placed the Bible and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and the Christian Science Hymnal near me so that I could reach them, but I was not able to use them.
