My first healing in Science came...

My first healing in Science came as a result of the reversal of my thinking regarding resistance to the very name of Christian Science. The desire to understand God aright brought the textbook, Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy, into my hands. The willingness to try to understand this book brought a complete and permanent healing of periodic hemorrhages within one month from the time I began earnestly to study it.

There have been many other instances of healing evidenced in our experience, as the result of the application and demonstration of Christian Science during the seventeen years that it has been a part of our daily living. Some of these include so-called children's diseases, broken bones, and acute abdominal pains. False traits of character, social drinking, and the desire for coffee have been overcome; also, a sense of lack has given place to adequate supply.

I should like to relate an experience I had more than five years ago. Upon being asked to teach a Sunday School class in a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, I hesitated to accept the appointment because of a large unsightly wart on one of my thumbs. It had been there for over fifteen years, and I had always been conscious of it, particularly as I held my books to read.
