GOD FILLS ALL SPACE

Many may ask: "Where is heaven?" and, "Where is God?" To some there may seem to be no answer, but these questions are answered satisfactorily in the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. We read on page 291, "Heaven is not a locality, but a divine state of Mind in which all the manifestations of Mind are harmonious and immortal, because sin is not there and man is found having no righteousness of his own, but in possession of 'the mind of the Lord,' as the Scripture says." In the same book we find the explanation that God, infinite Spirit, Mind, fills all space.

Jeremiah reminded the people of his day of God's nearness in these words (23: 23, 24): "Am I a God at hand, saith the Lord, and not a God afar off? Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the Lord." The full import of Jeremiah's statement is made clear by Christian Science.

The contemplation of God as Spirit, Mind, enables the individual to grasp the truth of the statement that all space is filled with God and that matter, Spirit's opposite, is nowhere. Spirit being All, matter is, must be, an illusion, such as the mirage of water on the pavement of the road ahead on a hot day. No matter how fast the car or truck may go, it never reaches the water, because the water is never there. It is only an illusion, although it seems real.
