We thank God and Christian Science...

We thank God and Christian Science for many healings. When our son was six years old, he went to bed one evening with a small lump under his chin. By the next morning the condition had become alarming. Although my husband was not at that time a Christian Scientist, he agreed to the child's having Christian Science treatment. He offered to stay home with the child while I drove forty miles with the other children to ask for the help of a practitioner.

Upon our return home, my husband told us that while we were away a Christian Science program was shown on television. He had held the child in his arms while he listened. When the program had ended, the child was resting comfortably. The improvement which had been brought about solely through listening to the truth especially impressed my husband.

At this time we were in the midst of a very antagonistic situation because we were surrounded by opposition to Christian Science. Nevertheless, the healing came slowly and surely. The practitioner advised us to hold to this statement by Mrs. Eddy (Science and Health, p. 463): "A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive."
