Gratitude for Christian Science...

Gratitude for Christian Science has prompted me to tell of the joy, comfort, and healing which come from the understanding of God as taught in Christian Science. I became interested in this religion through a friend. She was the mother of several young children, and she lived such a Christian life that I went to her home to ask her what she had that I did not have. She began to tell me of the truths found in the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy, and also gave me a copy of The Christian Science Journal to read. Although I was skeptical, she satisfactorily answered every question with which I challenged her.

I began to see the logic and practicality of this Science, and after reading what I could understand in the Journal and putting it into practice, I was able to say to my friend: "It works! It really works!" I immediately purchased the textbook and began to read it.

Up to this time I had been taking iodine daily to dissolve an overactive thyroid gland, or goiter, which the doctor said should be operated on to get any permanent relief. I stopped taking the iodine, and just through my reading of Science and Health this condition was overcome and has never returned.
