Christian Science taught me to...
Christian Science taught me to seek God and to put my trust in Him. I was strongly addicted to alcohol. Inharmonious family relationships and the rapid deterioration of my business were the consequences.
A loving practitioner helped me realize what a subtle enemy I had yielded to and what a colossal illusion alcoholic intoxication is. Gradually I was able to give up alcohol, and harmony in the family was restored. My customers' confidence in me was again fully established, with the result that our financial status greatly improved.
Because my heart is filled with gratitude, I should like to relate another healing which I experienced in Christian Science. About a year ago I was bitten by a dog. At first I did not pay much attention to the wound. For three days I did not feel much discomfort. However, during the third night I awoke in great pain. The symptoms of a serious infection were evident.
My wife telephoned a Christian Science practitioner for prayerful help. The result of the call was wonderful, The pain disappeared entirely, and I felt secure in God's keeping. Very soon I fell asleep. The next morning I was completely healed and was able to go to work. There have been other healings in Christian Science. My wife was healed of a nervous stomach disorder, our daughter was able to lay aside her glasses, and our youngest son was healed of measles almost instantaneously.
I am infinitely grateful for Christian Science, and I wish to express my sincere gratitude for our Way-shower. Christ Jesus, for our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, and for our untiring practitioners. Today I know what an immeasurable blessing Christian Science brings, and I wish that all might be led to this wonderful teaching.—Max Schwander, Seedorf, Switzerland.
