So many testimonies in our periodicals have proved helpful to me that I submit this testimony of gratitude for Christian Science in the hope that it will be helpful to others.

I was reared in Christian Science and will always be especially grateful for the encouragement and support my parents gave me in this respect. Through my mother's daily protective work particularly, I was free from the usual so-called childhood ailments and was rarely ill from the time I was in kindergarten until I was through college.

Although I saw numerous healings accomplished for me and my family, one healing I had which occurred when I was a freshman in high school stands out especially. A condition developed which was thought to be inflammation of the kidneys and which caused me a great deal of pain and discomfort. My mother worked prayerfully for me for several days, but the condition did not disappear. She then felt that it was time I learned to work consistently for myself, and she urged me to go to my room and study our textbook,
