Christian Science was presented to my parents in 1912 by a dear friend of the family who suggested that they call a practitioner for my father, who was suffering severe pain from inflammatory rheumatism. I shall always be grateful for this devout and loving student of Science. My father's healing was complete in a remarkably short time. In 1914 I was stricken with this disease, and through the consecrated work of the same practitioner I was completely healed in six weeks. This healing has been permanent. A dear one in whose home we were living at that time witnessed these two healings, took up the study of Christian Science shortly thereafter, and became a most sincere student.

Being in my early teens when my healing took place, I had the privilege of attending the Christian Science Sunday School for a few years. There I gained the foundation of my understanding of Christian Science, for which I shall never cease to be grateful.

Other healings which I have experienced have been those of influenza, a sprained ankle, an acute attack of appendicitis, a severe case of jaundice, and the fear of taking cold. Other members of our family have been healed of acute attacks of indigestion, broken toes, and the social drinking and smoking habits. When loved ones passed on, I was not only able to overcome grief myself, but was able to help other members of the family by realizing that Life is God, that the real man is never born, and that therefore he can never die.
